Pumpkin seed mash is the pulpy mass made from milled pumpkin seeds, water and salt.
In the context of Styrian pumpkin seed oil: the seeds are milled first, then kneaded with water and salt into a mash and roasted afterwards. This roasted mash goes into the press. The mash is therefore not produced by subsequently milling whole seeds that have already been roasted.
