Shelf life is the period during which a food keeps its sensory and quality properties when stored correctly.
For Styrian pumpkin seed oil PGI, the official description says: stored in the dark, the oil keeps for at least 9 months. The best-before date on the bottle is binding. After opening, use the oil promptly; light, heat and air can oxidise the unsaturated fatty acids. Store cool, dark and tightly closed. Claims such as 12 to 24 months unopened or 3 to 6 months after opening are not the official measure.
